About
Sean Ghannam is a freelance music composer, music instructor, performing musician, sound designer and sound engineer. He has built his own business as a performer/band leader. He also works with agents and books himself for live performances and studio work. He has performed thousands of gigs as a musician and band leader. He has over twenty five years of experience as a performer. Sean Ghannam works extensively as a solo performer/singer guitarist and uses guitar synthesizers and looping devices. Sean runs a home project recording studio (Sonic Playground Studios) and has several credits composing music for TV Commercials and Independent films. He has several professional music recordings available. In 2006 Sean won a Songwriters Showcase of America (SSA Award) for best jazz based song of the year, Seahorses. Sean studied jazz and music theory privately with jazz-fusion masters Bill Connors (Return to Forever with Chick Corea) as well as Larry Coryell (Eleventh House/John McLaughlin). Sean was featured in Guitar Player magazine in May 2008. In August 2009 Sean was contacted by jazz legend Michael Henderson, bassist for Miles Davis in his fusion era from 1970-1976 and formerly the touring bassist for Stevie Wonder in 1970. He was asked to perform in his "Electric Miles" supergroup which was to play at Ronnie Scotts in London and start a worldwide tour. Sean has performed in many different professional groups covering many music styles from pop-rock, dance, country, and metal to jazz-rock fusion. Early in Sean's career, he formed an internationally touring Rush tribute band, Rushour (1992 to present), which has performed three times at Rushcon, the international Rush convention in Toronto, Canada. Sean has performed at Sunfest in West Palm Beach in front of hundreds of thousands of music fans and regularly performed at the House of Blues and the Hard Rock Live from 1999 to the present. Sean has opened for many famous acts such as: Blue Oyster Cult, Modern English, Sixpence None The Richer, Glenn Hughes, Reggie Wooten (who said about Sean: "I wish I could play guitar like that"), Styx, and Kansas and has performed live on FOX TV, Orange TV, Hard Rock Live "Live Wire" on cable TV as well as on live radio broadcasts such as the Melissa Fox Show with Jeff Coffey, former RCA recording artist and former lead singer of the famous band Chicago. Sean performs with his jazz-fusion group The Apocalypse Fusion Trio (2007 to present) which performs at original music festivals and jazz clubs. Sean performs with many convention/corporate cover groups which regularly perform at tourist based venues such as Citiwalk at Universal Studios, Disney Springs, The Ritz Carlton, Gaylord Palms and many other resorts and destinations.
